Historian Todd Langworthy has appeared as Captain Alonzo Cushing for 15 years, appearing at festivals, fairs, museums, schools, cemeteries and private events. Langworthy portrays Alonzo Cushing, a Civil War hero who was killed in action at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 3, 1863. Cushing was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor by President Obama in 2014, 151 years after his death. Cushing's death was portrayed in the feature film "Gettysburg".

Todd Langworthy is a certified Social Studies teacher, having retired from public school teaching in 2020. Langworthy is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at SUNY College at Fredonia in the History Department. His Living History appearances tell an amazing story of heroism that is both educational and entertaining. Langworthy appears as Cushing and gives his presentation as well as question and answer sessions in the first person as Alonzo Cushing.
